St Kitts and Nevis citizenship program began in 1984 and has set precedence for other economic citizenship programs elsewhere. Through the St Kitts citizenship program successful applicants can legally become citizens of St Kitts and Nevis. There are two options which will qualify applicants for Nevis and St Kitts economic citizenship and a St. Kitts and Nevis passport:
Main applicants to the St Kitts Citizenship by investment program must be over the age of twenty one (21). Under the available options for Saint Kitts citizenship program, applicants and their dependents are eligible for St Kitts and Nevis citizenship and St. Kitts and Nevis passports. Dependents are defined as spouse and children.
St Kitts Citizenship through Real Estate Investment: For a minimum investment of US$400,000 into a real estate project in St Kitts or Nevis (plus additional fees) you can qualify for St Kitts citizenship and acquire a St. Kitts passport. The government of St Kitts has designated real estate projects for the St Kitts citizenship-by-investment program and making an investment into one of these projects can qualify you for St Kitts economic citizenship. In this option, a spouse and children can be included in the application process. The real estate investment in the St Kitts economic citizenship program cannot be resold before a period of five (5) years; subsequent buyers of property bought under this economic citizenship program do not qualify for St Kitts citizenship.
Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation: This option for St Kitts and Nevis citizenship is also known as the St Kitts citizenship by donation option. Contributions made in this option of St Kitts citizenship are used for funding new industries/sectors which will provide employment for redundant sugar industry workers who were displaced after the sugar industry was discontinued in St Kitts and Nevis. This option has four different categories with different contribution values:
Dependents are considered to be spouse and children below eighteen. Children who are above eighteen but have not reached the age of 25 maybe included in St Kitts citizenship application providing that these children are single and still dependent on parents.
